▣ FRAGMENTThe Golden Seeds
Seeds of the Erdtree, scattered when the Elden Ring shattered

The Golden Seeds
'A golden seed, found at the base of an illusory tree. Increases a Sacred Flask's number of uses. (Can be used after resting at a site of grace.) When the Elden Ring was shattered, these seeds flew from the Erdtree, then took root and grew into illusory trees in their own right.' The Golden Seeds are small, glowing kernels scattered across the Lands Between, found at the base of phantom-light saplings called Illusory Trees. They are seeds of the Erdtree itself. When the Elden Ring shattered and Marika's body broke, the Erdtree's seed-pulp scattered too, flung wide across the geography by the same metaphysical concussion that fractured the Ring. Where each seed landed, an illusion of the Erdtree grew up : a smaller, ghost-like sapling that the Tarnished can find and pluck a single seed from.
'Increases a Sacred Flask's number of uses.' The mechanic is the gift the seeds carry : every Golden Seed gives the Tarnished one more use of the healing Crimson Flask or the FP Cerulean Flask. Beyond the mechanic, the seeds are the canon's quiet measure of how broken the Erdtree is, every seed found is a piece of the central tree that wandered. The illusory saplings are not real trees. They cannot grow into Erdtrees. But they hold the seed-memory of an order that, before the Shattering, would have spread golden roots across the same ground.
