Queen Marika the Eternal
"Hear me, Demigods. My children beloved. Make of thyselves that which ye desire. Be it a Lord. Be it a God. But should ye fail to become aught at all, ye will be forsaken."
Echoes, to the demigods
"Let a new epoch begin. An epoch glistening with life. Brandish the Elden Ring, for the Age of the Erdtree!"
The Shattering, to her other self
Queen Marika the Eternal is a Numen, a people of outer origin, long-lived but rarely born, who became the reigning goddess of the Lands Between, vessel of the Elden Ring, and architect of the Golden Order. Her deepest nature is the game's central revelation: Marika and Radagon are a single being. Radagon was her male alter ego, a king-consort who was literally herself in a different form, confirmed by the inscription "Radagon is Marika" hidden in Raya Lucaria. This duality mirrors alchemy: the White Queen and Red King, reunited as a hermaphroditic whole. Her internal name in game files reinforces this.
Her successive unions produced nearly all demigods: with Godfrey (sons: Morgott and Mohg, both Omen chained at birth, rejected by the very Order she imposed; and Godwyn, the Golden); with Radagon/herself (twins: Malenia and Miquella, both Empyreans). She also bore Messmer the Impaler (secret son, imprisoned in the Realm of Shadow, DLC) and Melina (secret daughter, the Kindling Maiden). Ranni and Radahn are children of Radagon and Rennala, her step-children via her own alter ego.
Her words linger at Sites of Grace in churches (shared by Melina): they trace a spiritual arc from loyal servant of the Greater Will ("Brandish the Elden Ring for the Age of the Erdtree") to questioning the Order's foundations ("I shall declare my intention to search the depths of the Golden Order") to acknowledging Radagon as herself ("O Radagon, leal hound of the Golden Order. Thou'rt yet to become me. Let us be shattered, both. Mine other self."). Her final transgression, shattering the Elden Ring herself, is the game's central mystery. The Two Fingers accuse her; her exact motivation remains deliberately ambiguous (despair? liberation? planned defiance?). This act had her imprisoned in the Erdtree, crucified and suspended in time. Marika's Rune (shaped like the lower arc of the Elden Ring) foreshadows her crucifixion and recurs throughout the game: Marika's Scarseal, Marika's Soreseal, Messmer's implanted eye. Her Omen sons (Morgott and Mohg) were rejected at birth, the private pain of a mother who must cast aside her own children in the name of the Order she upholds.

Remembrance of the Fire GiantThe Fire Giant is a survivor of the War against the Giants. Upon realizing the flames of their forge would never die, Queen Marika marked him with a curse. "O trifling giant, mayest thou tend thy flame for eternity."
Finger Reader Enia (Dialogue)Of the demigods, only I, Miquella, and Malenia could claim that title. Each of us was chosen by our own Two Fingers, as a candidate to succeed Queen Marika, to become the new god of the coming age. But I would not acquiesce to the Two Fingers. I stole the Rune of Death, slew mine own Empyrean flesh, casting it away. Which is when I received Blaidd. In the form of a vassal tailored for an Empyrean.
Shabriri (Dialogue)Though I can't help but think of it as a curse. A fearsome curse, put on him by Queen Marika. And if that's the case, I'm not sure there's anything we can do... Ah. So slay her, with the weapons he smithed. Slay the god, Marika, who cursed us all. You're...giving it to me? I've never had alcohol before...
Dung Eater (Dialogue)But Rennala herself is no demigod. She is merely the recipient of an amber egg, given to her by Radagon, Her beloved, Radagon, left her to become Queen Marika's second husband, taking the title of King Consort. The Great Rune dwells within the amber egg that was Radagon's gift to her. There are four more demigods yet to be located. I commend your spirit, but alas, none shall take the throne. Queen Marika has high hopes for us. That we continue to struggle. Unto eternity.
However. When Godfrey, first Elden Lord, was hounded from the Lands Between, Radagon left Rennala to return to the Erdtree Capital, becoming Queen Marika's second husband and King Consort. Taking the title...of second Elden Lord. The mystery endures, to this day... Then how about you piss off? fore I crack you in 'alf. Marika's tits, you must be 'ungry. Alright mate. Want some more prawn, do ya? I got crab, cooked up fresh. Want some more crab, do ya?
Millicent (Dialogue)Then you might like to learn something of the history... of Malenia, goddess of scarlet rot. Queen Marika and her King Consort Radagon were blessed with twin demigods, and Malenia was one of them. She was born an Empyrean, carrying the scarlet rot. An Empyrean...is no mere demigod. In the age of the Elden Ring, and Queen Marika, the precious Empyrean was born. A new god to forge a new Order. Since Malenia fought Radahn, and the great scarlet flower blossomed in Aeonia, I have dedicated myself to her.
Sage Gowry (Dialogue)Now the master is facing quite the puzzle. The Golden Order is founded on the principle that Marika is the one true god. However... The name of Marika's second husband, King Consort Radagon, also appeared... Who exactly was Radagon? The master is stumped. A glimpse into the heart of the Golden Order, documented by yours truly. To think, that Radagon was Marika herself. Or at least, such is all I can interpret from the rhythm and calculus of his finger. How would such a thing even have been possible, I wonder.
Marika's ScarsealAn eye engraved with an Elden Rune. Said to be the seal of Queen Marika. Raises mind, intelligence, faith, and arcane, but also increases damage taken. These seals represent the lifelong duty of those chosen by the gods.
Marika's SoresealThis legendary talisman is an eye engraved with an Elden Rune, said to be the seal of Queen Marika. Greatly raises mind, intelligence, faith, and arcane, but also increases damage taken by a similar measure. Solemn duty weighs upon the one beholden; not unlike a gnawing curse from which there is no deliverance.
Maliketh's HelmWorn by Maliketh the Black Blade. Maliketh, Queen Marika's loyal half-brother, bore a blade imbued with Destined Death, and there was not one demigod who did not fear him. Champions knew what was at stake. Indeed, that is what made them champions.
