The Ancient Heroes of Zamor are the long-lived warriors of the Town of Zamor, clad in biting, freezing winds and said to have been the mortal enemies of the Fire Giants since time immemorial. Cloaked in icy tempests, they have challenged the Fire Giants since ancient times; the game does not date the beginning of that enmity. Their sorcery is the Zamor Ice Storm: strike the ground with the staff, and a freezing tornado rises. The charge of the War against the Giants was Marika's own, spoken in her own words to 'brave warriors' and to 'my lord Godfrey' alike: 'Put the Giants to the sword, and confine the flame atop the mount. Let a new epoch begin.' Godfrey, lord of the battlefield, led that war, and the knights of Zamor came out of it hailed as heroes who had earned great renown.

Why the town fell is not written. The place survives on the map as Zamor Ruins, in the Mountaintops of the Giants, whose western half the map calls a marching ground during the War against the Giants. The knights are still met under the name Ancient Hero of Zamor, masked: the Zamor Mask is worn by an ancient hero. Their curved swords, styled after an icy wind in apparent devotion to winter, carry a powerful frost effect. The monument to the war reads: 'Champions battle, trolls betray. Fire vanquished, the era of the Erdtree begins.' The flame was sealed rather than spent: the Fire Giant is a survivor of that war, marked with a curse by Marika once she realized the flames of their forge would not die, and guardians were appointed to watch over the ruinous blaze.
