Founding a dynasty
Mohg is the twin brother of Morgott, both Omen sons of Godfrey and Marika, chained in the sewers beneath Leyndell from birth. Where Morgott chose masochistic adoration of the Erdtree that rejected him, Mohg chose rebellion and the cult of a distinct Outer God: the Formless Mother, a being of blood and affliction distinct from the Greater Will, who granted him powers of blood and sanguine curse, transforming his Omen horns into instruments of new rites.
Mohg seized Miquella, the Empyrean still in his larval cocoon within the Haligtree, and transported him to the Mohgwyn Palace, a necropolis hidden outside the normal Lands Between, accessible only via Sanguine Rings of Teleportation drawn by his disciples. His obsession with Miquella was dynastic and "romantic": the Remembrance of the Blood Lord specifies that he "wished to raise Miquella to full godhood, wished to become his consort, take the role of monarch, but no matter how he tried to share his bloody bed, he never received a response from the young Empyrean." Miquella in the cocoon remained inert, indifferent, showing no reaction whatsoever. Mohg wished to found the Mohgwyn Dynasty with him. He recruited Bloody Fingers, Tarnished cursed by blood, as knights for his future royalty. Varré❞, his chief recruiter, operated from the very entrance to the Lands Between, seducing maidenless Tarnished toward the cause via blood initiation rites (injecting noble blood into the finger with a long pin, "thou dost have the sweetest cry").
