Morgott, the Omen King
"Foul Tarnished. Graceless Tarnished. What is thy business with these thrones? Ahh... Godrick the Golden. The twin prodigies, Miquella and Malenia. General Radahn. Praetor Rykard. Lunar Princess Ranni. Wilful traitors, all. Thy kind are all of a piece. Pillagers, come seeking vengeance upon the Erdtree."
Throne defence
"Have it writ upon thy meagre grave: Felled by King Morgott! Last of all kings."
Defeat
Morgott is the twin son of Godfrey and Marika, twin brother of Mohg, born an Omen, a condition the Golden Order regards as "graceless" and representing a monstrous deviation. From birth he was chained in the sewers beneath Leyndell like all Omens: cursed, disowned by the very Order he venerated. His fundamental tragedy is loving the Erdtree deeply despite the fact that it rejects him. The Remembrance of the Omen King summarizes it mercilessly: "He loved without being loved in return, for he was never loved."
Despite this absolute injustice, Morgott took it upon himself to become the Protector of the Erdtree, sole guardian of Leyndell against Tarnished invaders, rebels, and ambitious demigods. He disguised himself as Margit the Fell Omen to ambush Tarnished far before Leyndell itself. "Someone must extinguish thy flame. Let it be Margit!" He cleansed the sewers of Leyndell of his fellow Omens, stacking their bodies, an act of monstrous devotion to an Order that did not want him. He proclaimed himself "King of Grace" after Marika's disappearance and held Leyndell's order alone throughout the Shattering. In his boss fight: "Thou'rt but a fool, Tarnished. The Erdtree will never accept thee." "The thrones... made foul by my curse... Such shame I cannot bear." His Cursed Sword is forged from his own cursed horns. His massive armored form, bat-like wings, ligatures, and horns are the physical marks of the Omen. The "Second Defense of Leyndell" Historical Monument: "The Fell Omen piles the bodies of heroes high, and yet the Erdtree stands unshaken", his military victory inseparable from his personal denial.
