◈ CHARACTERRennala, Queen of the Full Moon
Carian Queen · Mistress of Raya Lucaria

Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
"Come, sweetings, become what ye desire. Come, sweetings, time to be born, anew. Be not afeard, little culver. Hush, little culver. Hush, fair maid. I will soon birth thee anew, a sweeting fresh and pure..."
Cradling the egg
"After death, quite the tale will be thine to tell. Of the last Queen of Caria, Rennala of the Full Moon. And the majesty of the night she conjureth."
Defeat
Rennala was the champion of the Carian house and the undisputed mistress of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, the greatest glintstone sorcery institution in the Lands Between. In her youth she was "a prominent champion who charmed the academy with her lunar magic, becoming its mistress." She led the Glintstone Knights of Caria, founded the Carian royal house, and was Radagon's military adversary in the Liurnian Wars. When Radagon defeated her forces, he made penance by bathing in celestial dew, pledged his love, and married her, an accord that united the House of the Erdtree and the House of the Moon. Their union produced three children: Radahn, Rykard, and Ranni.
Radagon abandoned her to return to Leyndell and become Marika's second consort, an abandonment that irreparably broke Rennala. The Academy then rebelled against the Carian royals, dispossessing her of her title and confining her to the Grand Library. She retreated there with the Amber Egg Radagon had gifted her, the only remnant of that love, and devoted herself to a forbidden rite: reincarnation. Her students (the "sweetings") defended the library under the influence of a charm tied to the Egg. In her grief-induced madness, she cradled the egg while singing lullabies, reliving her memories. She offers players reincarnation through the Amber Egg (Larval Tear required), "Come, sweetings, become what ye desire." Her Great Rune rests within the Amber Egg, Radagon's gift, and cannot be restored via a Divine Tower as she is not a true Shardbearer in the full sense. Enia notes "her Great Rune remains in the amber egg that she so lovingly cherishes." Her daughter Ranni says "my sweet Ranni" in a cutscene, revealing their mutual tenderness.

Come, sweetings, time to be born, anew. Be not afeard, little culver. Here's your prize. Oh yes, I should say, If you venture north to Raya Lucaria, and come across a venerable blacksmith who's a little on the large side... Tell him I sent you. And he'll be sure to treat you right.
Old Albus (Dialogue)Have you ever wished you might be born again? Well, they say that Rennala of Raya Lucaria has the power to help people be reborn. Oh? Me? M'lord, it shouldn't take me long. I'm off to see Rennala of Raya Lucaria. I'll be reborn, fresh and new. M'lord.

Preceptor Seluvis (Dialogue)But one must choose one's masters wisely. I was exiled from the Academy of Raya Lucaria, as a reviled, apostate witch. Do you still wish to learn from me? Well, you are a piece of work. We can speak more later, my apprentice. If you recall, I was exiled from the Academy of Raya Lucaria. It was for attempting to restore the primeval current of glintstone sorcery. The toothless pedantry peddled by the Carian royal family can rot for all I care.
