The Carian Royal House
The Carian Royal House held the lake-province of Liurnia, whose western coast 'has always been closely associated with Carian royalty', and it entered the Erdtree's order by marriage: a crossbow was made to celebrate 'the matrimonial union, and reconciliation, between the houses of the Erdtree and the Full Moon, Leyndell and Raya Lucaria'. The royalty itself was Rennala's making, established in her youth, when her lunar magic charmed the academy. Rennala met an enchanting full moon when she was young, and later led a young Ranni by the hand to one 'cold, dark, and veiled in occult mystery'. In Rellana's childhood, Rennala and her younger sister met the overlapping twin moons that became Rellana's sorcery; Rellana would renounce her lineage to chase after Messmer, and Rennala was said to have given her 'a gift of lustrous black hair'. Their craft was glintstone sorcery, whose Carian sword sorceries conjure swords of magic.
The house's head was Rennala, 'head of both the Academy of Raya Lucaria and the Carian royal family', and Radagon's 'first wife'; their children, among them Radahn, 'became demigod stepchildren after Radagon's union with Queen Marika'. When she lost Radagon, 'her heart went along with him', and those at the academy realized 'that Rennala was no champion, after all'; the enchanted knights anointed by the Lunar Queen 'fell into disarray with the decline of the royal family'. Her daughter Ranni gives her own account of what followed: chosen by her Two Fingers as a candidate to succeed Marika, she would not acquiesce, stole a fragment of the Rune of Death, forged 'the godslaying black knives through fearsome rite', and slew her own Empyrean flesh rather than 'be controlled by that thing'. The age of the stars she swears at the end is 'a thousand year voyage under the wisdom of the Moon'.
One of the sorceries of the Carian royal family. Conjures a magic sword and delivers a swift sweeping slash. This sorcery can be used without delay after performing another action. Even among the Carian sword sorceries, this is a notably effective technique.
A talisman adorned with the royal crest. Lowers FP consumed by skills. An honor said to have once been awarded to Carian knights who served as direct retainers to the kingdom's princesses. Now there is only one princess: Ranni, daughter of Rennala.
Remembrance of the Full Moon QueenRemembrance of Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, hewn into the Erdtree. In her youth, Rennala was a prominent champion who charmed the academy with her lunar magic, becoming its master. She also led the Glintstone Knights and established the house of Caria as royalty.
