The Divine Towers
The Divine Towers are the great vertical structures that punctuate the Lands Between, slim, gold-veined towers raised at strategic ridges across the realm, each connected to a particular Great Rune the demigods carry. The Great Runes flavour text gives the system its formal description : 'The Great Runes you receive by defeating shardbearers have lost their beneficial power. However, their power can be restored at Divine Towers throughout the Lands Between. See the description of each Great Rune to discover which Divine Tower you should visit.' Each Divine Tower is the ritual instrument by which one shard of the Elden Ring is reattuned to the demigod's body, and through them, to the Greater Will above.
Their geographic distribution is the canon's quietest map of demigod power. Godrick's rune restores at the Divine Tower of Limgrave, beyond the bridge from Stormveil. Mohg's and Morgott's both restore at the Divine Tower of East Altus, beyond Leyndell's eastern ward, a single tower for the twin Omens. Malenia's restores at the Isolated Divine Tower beyond the lost great bridge, an island tower the Tarnished must reach by Spiritspring jump. The towers are silent at all other times, and the Greater Will, when its messengers stop coming, leaves the towers as the only architecture in the realm that still works as instruments of cosmic order.
The Great Runes you receive by defeating shardbearers have lost their beneficial power. However, their power can be restored at Divine Towers throughout the Lands Between.
