The Godskin Apostles and Nobles are two ranks of an ancient order that once hunted gods using the Black Flame, Destined Death itself, channeled through their needles and daggers. The Godskin Prayerbook, found in Stormveil Castle, reveals that "in the age before the Erdtree, the Godskin Apostles slew the gods to strip them of their grace", establishing their existence predates the current Golden Order. The Black Flame they wield is derived from the Rune of Death (Destined Death), which explains why it continues burning after impact: it inflicts a form of true, irreversible death even on beings of grace. Apostles (taller, with flowing black robes and a dancer-like moveset incorporating their distinctive Godslayer Greatsword) are the higher rank. Nobles (rounder, rotund, with daggers) are the infantry. Both share the ability to call down black fireballs and to expand their bodies in unnatural ways. In the current era, they serve Rykard at the Volcano Manor and appear in the Farum Azula and the Divine Tower of East Altus area, though their original masters and the full history of their order remain obscure. Their needle weapons (Celebrant's Skull, Godskin Stitcher) suggest a ritualistic aspect to their god-killing practice.
