◈ LINEAGEThe Gloam-Eyed Queen
Marika's predecessor, lost teacher of the Godskin Apostles

The Gloam-Eyed Queen
Before Marika took the title of god, the Lands Between were ruled by a different Empyrean : the Gloam-Eyed Queen, an Empyrean of the Numen line whose name was struck from every Erdtree chronicle. She wielded Destined Death freely, not as Marika would later wield it, sealed and feared, but as a living force. Her Godskin Apostles were her chosen warriors, draped in the flayed skins of gods they had killed, and they wielded the black flame she had taught them : a flame that consumes divinity itself.
Maliketh, then her shadow, betrayed or replaced her at Marika's ascension; the Gloam-Eyed Queen vanished from the records, and Destined Death was wrested from her and hidden in Maliketh's Black Blade. The Godskin Apostles survived the change, but their flame was diminished and their queen unmourned. The Tarnished may meet them at Caelid's Death-Roots and at Crumbling Farum Azula, the last of an order that was once meant to kill gods.
Black Flame BladeA black flame incantation of the Godskin Apostles. Black flame is said to have once held divinity itself in its grasp.
Godskin Apostle BraceletsBlack bracelets of the Godskin Apostles. The apostles, once said to serve Destined Death, are wielders of the god-slaying black flame.
Godslayer's GreatswordSacred sword of the Dusk-Eyed Queen who controlled the Godskin Apostles before her defeat at the hands of Maliketh. The black flames wielded by the apostles are channeled from this sword.
