◈ CHARACTERMiquella the Unalloyed
Empyrean · Founder of the Haligtree

Miquella the Unalloyed
"Young seedling, young seedling. Return to the bosom of earth. But remember well, thou'rt mine. So shall I give of myself. This is for thee. Mine abundance, my drop of dew. Quench thy thirst, throughout thy frame. Blossom and burgeon, time and again. Grow larger, stronger. Until the day cometh when thou canst share in my dream."
Cinematic, gift to Malenia
Miquella is the son of Marika and Radagon, twin brother of Malenia, and one of the three Empyreans designated by the Two Fingers to succeed Marika. Cursed from birth with eternal childhood, he remains forever in a child's body despite his millennial age, he devoted his existence to two quests: purging Malenia's rot, and forging an Elden Ring free from the Greater Will. His instrument was the Haligtree: a sacred tree he cultivated secretly, watered with his own blood and spiritual essence, intended to become an alternative to the Erdtree founded not on golden grace but on unconditional love. The Haligtree welcomes the marginalized: Albinaurics, graceless priests, misshapen beings, all those the Golden Order rejects.
He forged the Unalloyed Gold Needle to stem Malenia's rot, a tool that delayed progression without curing. Before completing his transcendence within the Haligtree cocoon, he was seized by Mohg, Lord of Blood, who kidnapped him in his larval state to Mohgwyn Palace. Mohg wished to elevate him to full godhood and found a new dynasty with him, but Miquella, imprisoned in the cocoon, never responded. His Great Rune (Miquella's Great Rune) is described as "the gentlest of the Great Runes" and restores the attributes of nearby allies. Reeling Rico, an alcoholic pilgrim at the Haligtree, claims to have "drunk of secrets untold" from Miquella's essence and begs to join his dream of transcendence to godhood.

Remembrance of the Rot GoddessAlternatively, it can be used to gain a great bounty of runes. Miquella and Malenia are both the children of a single god. As such they are both Empyreans, but suffered afflictions from birth. One was cursed with eternal childhood, and the other harbored rot within.
Remembrance of the Blood LordAlternatively, it can be used to gain a great bounty of runes. Wishing to raise Miquella to full godhood, Mohg wished to become his consort, taking the role of monarch. But no matter how much of his bloody bedchamber he tried to share, he received no response from the young Empyrean.
Finger Reader Enia (Dialogue)I was once an Empyrean. Of the demigods, only I, Miquella, and Malenia could claim that title. Each of us was chosen by our own Two Fingers, as a candidate to succeed Queen Marika, to become the new god of the coming age. But I would not acquiesce to the Two Fingers. Which is when I received Blaidd.
Old Albus (Dialogue)A chosen land awaits us Albinaurics. Miquella's city, far to the north, a place called Eburion, where we are conferred eternal grace. The medallion is the key that leads to the city. It's only a quaint treasure, for we who cannot make the journey.
War Counselor Iji (Dialogue)Will you show me the way? To the land of Miquella's Haligtree. If you accept, I would gladly apprise you. Of the whereabouts of the medallion's other half. My thanks... You'll lead me then, to the land of Miquella's Haligtree. Farewell, Lobo. My faithful wolf, my better half. Castle Sol lies just off to the north, where the other medallion is housed. It will grant passage to the land of the Haligtree. Oh young yet towering sister of ours. Let the birthing droplet in.
Latenna the Albinauric (Dialogue)It is I, Latenna. We have reached the land of Miquella's Haligtree, where Lobo and I began our travels. It's entirely thanks to you that I'm so close to home. These great snow-laden lands stretch far to the north. And beyond the ancient bowers, and the liturgical town of Ordina, lies the place to which I must return. We have reached the land of Miquella's Haligtree.
Dung Eater (Dialogue)Ah, good to see you. I heard the path to the Haligtree had been reopened. So I forced these old bones to weather the journey. Don't tell me it was you who opened the passage? St. Trina's, no, Lord Miquella's cadaver. I have partaken of untold secrets. Such that I might aid you, O Lord.
Millicent (Dialogue)I'm searching for a fort to the north of the ruins. I heard the master of the fort was given a medallion that allowed him to visit the Haligtree. Indeed, I believe that is where Malenia will be found. The Haligtree is hidden somewhere in these Northern lands. I'm searching for a fort to the west of the ruins. Again we meet. I can only surmise our purposes are aligned.
Grant life to the soulless bones! ... Lord Miquella, forgive me. The sun has not been swallowed. Our prayers were lacking. I will never set my eyes upon it now... Your divine Haligtree... ... Show me the path, O gentle lights. The promised path to the Haligtree! ... Only...a little further now... Show me the path, O gentle lights...the path to Elphael. ... Give him back. Give Lord Miquella back! How dare you lay hands on such precious flesh! ... Lord of Blood, your eminence.
