Miquella's Haligtree and Elphael

Tree of Love · Last Refuge of the Marginalized

The Haligtree is the sacred tree secretly cultivated by Miquella, watered with his own blood and nourished by his spiritual essence, to become an alternative to the Erdtree. Unlike the Erdtree which operates on golden grace and imposed Order, the Haligtree is founded on unconditional love. It welcomes the marginalized: Albinaurics (Latenna sought the city of Eburion at its edges), graceless priests, misshapen beings, all those the Golden Order rejects. Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, is the cradle-city built within its branches, destined to be the Promised Land of the Order's outcasts. Malenia was transported there after the Battle of Aeonia by Finlay and slept long in its roots in an attempt to purge her rot through the Tree's love. The connection with the Erdtree (and thus the Greater Will) is absent from the Haligtree, its branches grew without golden grace, creating a space outside the normal cosmic jurisdiction. The Cleanrot Knights of Malenia guard its approaches. Latenna the Albinauric, upon reaching the Haligtree's snowy lands, completes the ultimate purpose of her quest: "I am so close to home.

NPC DialogueWar Counselor Iji (Dialogue)

Will you show me the way? To the land of Miquella's Haligtree. If you accept, I would gladly apprise you. Of the whereabouts of the medallion's other half. My thanks... You'll lead me then, to the land of Miquella's Haligtree. Farewell, Lobo. My faithful wolf, my better half. Castle Sol lies just off to the north, where the other medallion is housed. It will grant passage to the land of the Haligtree. Oh young yet towering sister of ours. Let the birthing droplet in.

NPC DialogueLatenna the Albinauric (Dialogue)

It is I, Latenna. We have reached the land of Miquella's Haligtree, where Lobo and I began our travels. It's entirely thanks to you that I'm so close to home. These great snow-laden lands stretch far to the north. And beyond the ancient bowers, and the liturgical town of Ordina, lies the place to which I must return. We have reached the land of Miquella's Haligtree.

NPC DialogueDung Eater (Dialogue)
There are four more demigods yet to be located. Miquella of the Haligtree, the Unalloyed. His twin, Malenia, the undefeated swordswoman. Lunar Princess Ranni, daughter to Rennala. I wait with baited breath. Ahh, so the secret medallions led you to the land of the Haligtree? I'd expect to find Malenia there. She who fought Radahn to a standstill. Well, if the scarlet rot hasn't eaten her away completely. But...with the Haligtree as it is... I suppose Miquella must already be... Ah, my apologies. Lost myself, for a moment there. So. The Haligtree, now but a husk... I heard speculation Miquella embedded himself in the Haligtree, but before he could finish, someone cut the tree open and absconded with his infant form. Indeed, it seems those words held weight. How vexing. Ahh, I see! So Miquella was with the Lord of Blood after all! That is some fine intelligence indeed! With it, the final clue has been brought into the light. But perhaps it would be safer to destroy it. Miquella is the one thing that remains a mystery to me... You...burned the Erdtree, didn't you? Then the Roundtable is soon to follow.
NPC DialogueReeling Rico (Dialogue)

Ah, good to see you. I heard the path to the Haligtree had been reopened. So I forced these old bones to weather the journey. Don't tell me it was you who opened the passage? St. Trina's, no, Lord Miquella's cadaver. I have partaken of untold secrets. Such that I might aid you, O Lord.

NPC DialogueMillicent (Dialogue)

I'm searching for a fort to the north of the ruins. I heard the master of the fort was given a medallion that allowed him to visit the Haligtree. Indeed, I believe that is where Malenia will be found. The Haligtree is hidden somewhere in these Northern lands. I'm searching for a fort to the west of the ruins. Again we meet. I can only surmise our purposes are aligned.

NPC DialogueScribe Corhyn (Dialogue)

Grant life to the soulless bones! ... Lord Miquella, forgive me. The sun has not been swallowed. Our prayers were lacking. I will never set my eyes upon it now... Your divine Haligtree... ... Show me the path, O gentle lights. The promised path to the Haligtree! ... Only...a little further now... Show me the path, O gentle lights...the path to Elphael. ... Mohg, you rotten Omen. Your blood is cursed. Give him back. Give Lord Miquella back! How dare you lay hands on such precious flesh! ... Lord of Blood, your eminence.
