Consecrated Snowfield

Frozen river to the Haligtree, hidden by Miquella's veil

The Consecrated Snowfield is a frozen plain that lies between the Mountaintops of the Giants and the secret approach to Miquella's Haligtree. It was consecrated long ago by an ancient hero who interred his dead beneath a single great tree, and the cold here is unnatural: a windless white that never lifts, regardless of the sun. To enter the snowfield, the Tarnished must hold the two halves of the Haligtree Medallion, an artefact split between an Albinauric chief in the south of the snowfield and the village of Mohgwyn far below.

Miquella seeded the Haligtree's roots into this snowfield because the Erdtree's grace did not reach here, and the realm above could not see down. The snowfield is patrolled by Albinauric riders who serve Miquella's followers, by Death Rite Birds who drink the snow, and by the Wandering Mausoleums whose great wheels leave deep tracks in the white. The path to the Haligtree begins at the top of the snowfield, climbing through Ordina, the silent town where the Black Knife Assassins hold the gate.
