Dragonlord's Faithful · Wielders of Ancient Lightning

The Dragon Cult was an order within the Golden Order that venerated the Ancient Dragons and wielded their lightning, distinct from the draconic incantations of the Church of Dragon Communion. The Dragon Cult Prayerbook specifies that "these knights who served the Dragonlord" used lightning as a divine weapon, and their incantations (Lightning Spear, Honed Bolt, Lansseax's Glaive, Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike) are of Ancient Dragon lineage rather than golden grace. The Dragonlord they served was Placidusax, the pre-Erdtree Elden Lord who waited in Farum Azula. Lansseax, the Ancient Dragon whose glaive is an incantation, was one of the last surviving members of Placidusax's court and appears twice in Farum Azula as a massive cruciform lightning dragon. The Dragon Cult eventually became absorbed into the structure of the Golden Order, evidenced by the Dragon Cult Prayerbook being found near Leyndell's Divine Tower and Farum Azula, but retained its distinct lightning tradition. The Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff is a named member who can be summoned against the Elden Beast, representing the order's ancient opposition to the current cosmic arrangement.
