Pre-Erdtree faith of dragon-eaters, perpetuated by the dragon-hearted

The Dragon Communion
The Dragon Communion is the faith of those who eat the hearts of dragons to inherit their breath. Older than the Erdtree, it survives at the Dragon Communion altars, where the offering makes a dragon's power one's own; the extraordinary individuals who perpetuate the rite are called the dragon-hearted. The acolyte who consumed a dragon's heart could call down its element: ekzykes' rot, smarag's glintstone, theodorix's magma.
After the Erdtree's reign began, the Communion was outlawed but not destroyed. The Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid still hosts a few priests; the Ancient Dragon-Knights of Farum Azula were the warrior-arm of an even older incarnation, sworn to Dragonlord Placidusax before he was dethroned. Bayle the Dread, whose challenge to Placidusax in a time long past ended in grievous mutual injury, retreated to the Jagged Peak with the surviving ancient dragons; the DLC's Dragon Communion incantations are taken from his blood.
One of the incantations of Dragon Communion. Transforms caster into a wyrm to spew magma breath. Allows one follow-up attack. Those who have performed the Dragon Communion will find their humanity slowly slipping away. Once they fully succumb to their fate, they are left no more than wyrms that crawl the earth.
