Bayle's molten throne, last refuge of the ancient dragons

The Jagged Peak
"Bayle was the foul dragon's name—a terrible harbinger of destruction whose challenge to the ancient Dragonlord ended in grievous mutual injury."
From the Talisman of the Dread description
The Jagged Peak rises from the southern shore of the Gravesite Plain, 'the jagged peak thrusts upward into the clouds,' the Map: Southern Shore description states, against a vista of brilliant blue flowers and colossal drifted stone coffins. It is the last refuge of the ancient dragons, the same dragons who fled Marika's conquest of the sky and Messmer's secondary purge of every winged thing in the Realm of Shadow. They retreated here, to a peak whose own weather the Bayle-dragon Talisman of the Dread describes : 'the dread dragon of the jagged peak, whose roars cause the peak's molten fury to boil and churn.' The peak is a working volcano, kept boiling by the breath of the dragon who rules it.
That dragon is Bayle the Dread. The Talisman of the Dread describes him plainly : 'Bayle was the foul dragon's name, a terrible harbinger of destruction whose challenge to the ancient Dragonlord ended in grievous mutual injury.' Bayle and Placidusax fought in an age before the Erdtree, an age in which Placidusax was Elden Lord ; their duel maimed both. Placidusax retreated to Farum Azula's eternal storm. Bayle retreated to the Jagged Peak, where the surviving ancient dragons still gather around his cinders, drinking from the Red Fulgurbloom flowers that bloom only where his red lightning strikes the earth. Igon, the broken drake-warrior, climbs the peak to call the Tarnished to a vow he could not finish.
