Burial root of the Erdtree, throne of the Prince of Death

Deeproot Depths
Deeproot Depths is the great root-cavern beneath the Erdtree, where the trunk's living wood meets the soil and grace below. It is the chamber where every soul claimed by the Erdtree is brought to be reborn, and the chamber where, since the Night of the Black Knives, that cycle has been broken. Godwyn the Golden's body lies here, immortal in flesh but soul-dead, his corpse fused into the roots themselves; the Prince of Death he has become spreads its corruption across the underworld, manifesting as the great wraith-fish that drift through the cavern's air like a sky.
The Tarnished reaches Deeproot through a coffin-river that flows down from the wreck of Leyndell's Erdtree-Burial Watchdogs. Here Fia, the Deathbed Companion, has come to lie with Godwyn one last time; the Lichdragon Fortissax descends into the underworld to keep watch over the Prince's body; and the Crucible Knight Devourer, last of his order, fights the Tarnished as one final test. The Mending Rune of the Death-Prince is birthed here, in Godwyn's corrupted bed, and returned through Fia's hand.
Remembrance of the LichdragonRemembrance of Lichdragon Fortissax, hewn into the Erdtree. After Godwyn the Golden became the Prince of Death, the ancient dragon fought long and hard against the Death within its companion. Alas, victory was never achieved and its only reward was corruption.
Crucible Tree HelmHelm of the Crucible Knights who served Godfrey, the first Elden Lord. The great tree ornamentation is the knight Siluria's mark, displayed also by her men. Holds the power of the crucible of life, the primordial form of the Erdtree. Strengthens Aspects of the Crucible incantations.
