The Wandering Mausoleums of the Lands Between are walking, headless tombs: enormous stone shells on dragon-clawed legs, each pacing its own plain, from the Weeping Peninsula to Liurnia, the Deeproot Depths and the Mountaintops of the Giants. Each shelters the remains of a demigod born soulless, never given the spark that would have inhabited its flesh, hidden away rather than killed. By breaking the skulls clinging to its legs, the Tarnished forces a mausoleum to kneel, and within it can duplicate a demigod's Remembrance.

'Gauntlets worn by headless soldiers who endlessly guard the Wandering Mausoleum. Rust-worn and stained through unending conflict.' The soldiers are themselves an extension of the same loss: the bloodstains around their collars mark severed heads, a willing curse, in the canon's telling, that binds their spirits to the land to serve their masters even in Death. Their commanders, the headless Mausoleum Knights with eclipse-crested shields, were the bodyguards of the soulless heirs and remain so, faithful past the point at which faith makes any sense. The Eclipse Crest is the same heraldry Castle Sol bears in the snow; the cult is geographically scattered but theologically singular, a vow to defend what the Erdtree cast aside.
