▣ CONCEPTThe Outer Gods
Constellation of unwanted deities, beyond the Greater Will

The Outer Gods
The Outer Gods are the cosmic powers that exist beyond the Greater Will's chosen Order. Each is a being whose worship is forbidden or punishable in the Lands Between, and yet each finds its champion. Aeonia, the Outer God of Rot, lives in Malenia's body and in the Lake of Rot. The Formless Mother, the god of blood worshipped by the Mohgwyn dynasty, drinks from every wound. The Three Fingers, the maddened opposite of the Two Fingers, demand the world's burning. The Frenzied Flame, their gift, is yellow and ends all suffering by ending all things.
Other Outer presences lurk in the seams of canon: the God-Devouring Serpent that consumed Rykard; the Star God that sent Astel and Radahn's gravity; the Death-bird god of the Snowfield's old burial rites; the Black Knives' patron, whose name was struck from every Numen scripture. Each is a rival to the Erdtree, and each has at least one shrine in the Lands Between where a Tarnished may bend a knee, or refuse to.
Sacred incantation of Mohg, Lord of Blood. The mother of truth craves wounds. When Mohg stood before her, deep underground, his accursed blood erupted with fire, and he was besotted with the defilement that he was born into.
One of the incantations of Dragon Communion. Transforms caster into a dragon to spew scarlet rot breath. Charging extends duration. Those extraordinary individuals who perpetuate Dragon Communion are called the dragon-hearted.
