Mohgwyn Palace is a hidden cavern far below the Lands Between, lit by a permanent dusk of red mist. It is the sanctuary of Mohg, Lord of Blood, the Omen prince who fled the dungeons of Leyndell to forge his own dynasty. There he kidnapped his beloved twin Miquella, sealed him inside an unborn cocoon, and made the cavern a chapel for an unwanted god, the Formless Mother, an outer deity whose worship requires the spilling of one's own blood.

Mohg's Albinauric followers, the white-clad disciples of the Mohgwyn Dynasty, gather in the great chamber below to drink the blood of those they sacrifice. The palace was once the burial ground of Numen royalty, and the bones beneath the chapel are said to be Marika's own kin.
