He worshipped the Formless Mother, his patron blood-god ; he intended to wake Miquella as his consort and make of him a lord that the Erdtree would never have made.

Eleonora the Violet, Yura the Bloody Finger Hunter, Mohg's Knights, the Lichdragon's blood-fed worshippers, the Albinaurics held in Mohgwyn Palace's lake of blood : all are pieces of an order that never quite achieves its god-coronation because Miquella never wakes for Mohg. Miquella escapes the cocoon on his own terms in the DLC, finds Radahn's soul, summons him as his promised consort, and consigns Mohg's body to be merely a vessel for Radahn's reborn flesh.
