Astel is "a malformed star, born in the lightless void far away", a cosmic entity foreign to the Lands Between. The Remembrance of the Naturalborn: "An ill-omened falling star." It crashed upon an Eternal City like a falling star, destroying that city and literally taking its sky, replacing an entire civilization's celestial vault with the permanent underground darkness of its impact. Its two appearances in the game (Astel, Naturalborn of the Void in the Lake of Rot; and Astel, Stars of Darkness in Yelough Anix Ruins via Ranni's questline) suggest either multiple copies exist or similar entities exist scattered through the cosmos. Bastard's Stars (its boss drop, a flail) is literally formed from the multicolored asteroid debris that comprised its body. Inherited Gravitational Sorceries (Gravitas, Meteorite, Meteorite of Astel, Stars of Ruin) reflect its mastery of void and cosmic gravitational forces. Its presence in the Lake of Rot (directly linked to Malenia and Scarlet Rot) connects cosmic foreign entities to Scarlet Rot, two forces external to the Golden Order occupying the same space of underground death.

Meteorite of AstelOne of the glintstone sorceries that manipulates gravitational forces. Summons a void that emits a hail of meteorites. Hold to continue the effect. A manifestation of the power with which Astel leveled the Eternal City.
