The Twin Maiden Husks
'Bell bearing of a merchant left behind, found upon his perished flesh. Offer to the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold to gain access to new items.' The Twin Maiden Husks are the silent quartermasters of the Roundtable Hold: two ceremonial bodies, dressed identically in dark finery, seated side by side in a chamber of the Hold. They never speak. They never move except to accept Bell Bearings, small carved tokens taken from the bodies of every dead merchant in the Lands Between, and add the dead merchant's inventory to the Roundtable's shop.
'Knight Bernahl's bell bearing, found upon his perished flesh. Offer to the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold to gain access to new items.' The husks are not corpses, exactly. Their name suggests Finger Maidens: the women who 'live to serve a chosen Tarnished, sharing their guidance and the wisdom of the Two Fingers', but the game never confirms it, and never says what befell them. If Maidens they are, they have not died. They sit as if husked of grace. The Roundtable continues, in their quiet professional service, an order whose god has gone silent.
