◈ ACADEMYThe Conspectuses of Raya Lucaria
Karolos, Olivinus, Lazuli, Twinsage, four schools of one academy

The Conspectuses of Raya Lucaria
Raya Lucaria is not a single school, it is four schools sharing one rock above Liurnia, each named for the sorcerer-founder whose lineage of study they continue. The glintstone-crown system is the canon's quiet way of making this visible : each conspectus has its own crown, bestowed on scholars whose pursuits the academy deems worthy. The Karolos Glintstone Crown description names the oldest line : 'The Karolos Conspectus is the oldest of the academy's lineages of study, begat by the sorcerer Azur. Scholars who follow in his footsteps pursue the mysteries of comets.' The Olivinus crown belongs to Lusat's line, 'the lineage of the Olivinus Conspectus began with the sorcerer Lusat, and its adherents continue his study of meteors.' Both Azur and Lusat became primeval current sorcerers ; both had their crowns replace their brains and skulls altogether.
The Lazuli Conspectus is the academy's heretic core. The Lazuli Robe description names what makes them heretical : 'These scholars, who sought to master Carian sorcery, instead learned to see the moon as equal to the stars. This robe, in the hue of the full moon, signifies their heresy.' To call the moon a star, in the academy's official cosmology, is to abolish the hierarchy that separates Carian magic from Glintstone proper. The Hierodas Conspectus, finally, is the nomadic line, 'the crown of Hierodas was granted to scholars who engaged in nomadic study away from the academy.' Four schools, four crowns, four answers to whether the academy's gravity should be at the academy at all. The Cuckoos rose from the Lazuli's heresy ; Sellen, the great heretic Sage, was a Karolos who broke with all four.
The Karolos Conspectus is the oldest of the academy's lineages of study, begat by the sorcerer Azur. Scholars who follow in his footsteps pursue the mysteries of comets.
The lineage of the Olivinus Conspectus began with the sorcerer Lusat, and its adherents continue his study of meteors.
Robe worn by scholars of the Lazuli Conspectus, singular among the greater Raya Lucaria Academy. These scholars, who sought to master Carian sorcery, instead learned to see the moon as equal to the stars.
The crown of Hierodas was granted to scholars who engaged in nomadic study away from the academy.
