Romina was a saint who made her vows in the Church of the Bud, the small church deep in the ancient ruins of Rauh, in the Realm of Shadow. There she devoted herself to the rot: after the church was burned to the ground, she discovered a twisted divine element and weaved it into the baleful scarlet rot, so that the buds might find somewhere to gain purchase once more within the scorched remains. Romina willingly let the rot bloom from her body, and her flesh became a hive of scorpionoid limbs and putrescent buds. The scarlet butterflies, said to be as the Goddess of Rot's wings, were bereft of a master; Romina reached out to them, and soothed them.

She made the rot her discipleship: her purification, a bud-blade imbued with scarlet rot butterflies, was once considered a sacred act. The Tarnished finds her at the church's altar, the bud of her flesh spread wide over the pews, surrounded by the children she failed to save and the apostles who tried to save themselves through her.
