Romina, Saint of the Bud

Apostle of the rot at the Church of the Bud

"Children of the tower. Butterflies, take wing."

Cut dialogue (cathedral of the Bud)

Romina was a saint of the Erdtree, who entered the Realm of Shadow alongside Messmer's army and made her vows in the Church of the Bud at the heart of the Rauh Ruins. There she devoted herself to the rot, to Aeonia, the Outer God who Malenia carries, out of love for Malenia herself, who had been forbidden Erdtree communion. Romina willingly let the rot bloom from her body, and her flesh became a hive of scorpionoid limbs and putrescent buds. Her sermons preached that all life is suffering and that the rot is mercy.

She is one of three demigods of the rot Miquella's followers must contend with, and the only one to have chosen it as a discipleship. The Tarnished finds her at the church's altar, the bud of her flesh spread wide over the pews, surrounded by the children she failed to save and the apostles who tried to save themselves through her.
