The Frenzied Flame Village is the geographical scar of the Great Caravan's burial : a small settlement built in the centuries after the heretic merchant clan was buried alive, by people who came back to the same earth and didn't know why their hands kept shaking. The village's inhabitants slowly developed the same yellow-fire fever that had killed the original Caravan. By the time of the Tarnished, the village is a permanent quarantine-of-the-living : everyone there has the early stages of frenzied flame infection, no one leaves, and the nomadic merchants, descendants of the same Caravan, sell notes warning the Tarnished to stay away.

The deeper detail is the canon's quiet horror : beneath the village, accessed by a sealed shaft in its tallest building, is the chamber of the Three Fingers themselves. The original buried Caravan's screams summoned the Three Fingers into being ; the village above is where the Three Fingers' faithful gather. Hyetta, the blind girl who climbs to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame's maiden, came from this village. Vyke, the maddened Roundtable knight, made his pilgrimage here. Midra of the Manse, the DLC's frenzied saint, wrote his last sermon at one of its altars. The village is the entrance to a god, kept open by the simple expedient of letting its inhabitants stay sick.
