The Lord of Frenzied Flame Ending is the Tarnished's option of a sixth ending, the only ending in which the world is destroyed rather than rearranged. Reaching it requires the Tarnished to descend into the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, find the chamber behind the Cathedral of the Forsaken's altar, strip naked, and accept the Three Fingers' grasp ; the yellow flame enters the eyes, the cursemark of frenzy is burned into the chest, and the Tarnished can no longer remove it. After defeating the Elden Beast at the Erdtree, the Tarnished does not crown a new order, they crown a new ending of all orders.

The canon's only direct quotation of this ending is Melina's, spoken to the Tarnished after the cursemark is taken. The Ending, Lord of Frenzied Flame entry preserves it : 'Lord of Frenzied Flame... I will seek you, as far as you may travel... To deliver you what is yours. Destined Death.' Melina, who was the Kindling Maiden walking with the Tarnished to set the Erdtree alight, becomes the canon's only declared assassin of a Lord of the Lands Between. Her vow is the canon's quietest and largest stake : she will hunt the Tarnished across worlds to deliver the only thing that can finally end the yellow flame, Destined Death itself, the Rune Marika and Maliketh sealed away. The Frenzied Flame ending is, in other words, the canon's only suicide pact between Lord and Maiden, both choosing the world's burning over the world's continuance.
