The earth above their shaft is what is now called the Frenzied Flame Village ; the chamber far below is the chamber where the Three Fingers wait. The remnant Tarnished encounters as nomadic merchants are the descendants of the few who escaped that purge, scattered across every region, each carrying a kit of the same tools.
