◈ ENTITYThe Warrior Jars
Living vessels of stewed champions, dreams of greatness

The Warrior Jars
"Scraps of flesh for filling great jars. Rancorous spirits cling to the pinkish-red, twitching meat. Throw at enemies to inflict damage. This is what becomes of the condemned, who get sliced up and stuffed into jars to become saints instead."
From the Innard Meat description
The Warrior Jars are the strangest of the Lands Between's living lineages, great clay vessels stuffed with the dead flesh of fallen champions, possessed of a dim consciousness that compels them to keep fighting. Alexander, the Iron Fist, is the most articulate ; his innards explain the species. The Alexander's Innards flavour text gives the jars' biology in three sentences : 'A keepsake of the warrior jar Alexander. Found at the core of the dead flesh that once filled the great jar. The jars contain dregs inherited from those who came before. Thus are warriors passed from jar to jar, carrying dreams of greatness.'
What the canon calls 'dregs' is the residue of every champion who has previously inhabited the jar, bone fragments, hardened blood, pieces of weapons, scraps of armour. Each new occupant inherits the dregs as background mind, which is why warrior jars dream constantly of fights they never fought. The Beastmen of Farum Azula's Beastman's Jar-Shield records the older craft : 'The beastmen have always fired earthenware jars for the express purpose of making shields. Such are their ways, strange though they are.' The jar-as-armour and jar-as-vessel are both Hornsent crafts the Lands Between later inherited and forgot. Alexander's death, broken before the Erdtree he could not climb, leaves only the Shard of Alexander, 'Scraps of stewed flesh cling to the shard, and tatters of ornaments can be seen mingled within the slime. Relics of a red-haired champion, it would seem.'

Beastman's Jar-ShieldShield fashioned from a tall broken jar carried by the beastmen of Farum Azula. There is a particular knack to wielding it. The beastmen have always fired earthenware jars for the express purpose of making shields. Such are their ways, strange though they are.
Shard of AlexanderShard of the late Alexander, a shattered warrior jar. Greatly boosts the attack power of skills. Scraps of stewed flesh cling to the shard, and tatters of ornaments can be seen mingled within the slime. Relics of a red-haired champion, it would seem.
