Godefroy is the canon's other Grafted scion, a forerunner of Godrick, locked away inside the Auriza Hero's Grave for an offense the records do not name. His name, like Godrick's, may tie him to the Golden Lineage of Godfrey and his offspring, though no text names his descent; whoever his kin, he tried (or was driven, by the same withering of bloodline that Godrick suffered) to graft the limbs of others onto his own body.

His capture was important enough to Leyndell that the man who took him, Kristoff, an ancient-dragon-cult knight, theologically a heretic at Marika's court, was rewarded with Erdtree Burial. That the hierarchy overlooked such heresy to grant the honor is itself telling, though no record gives the reason. Godefroy survived imprisonment as a hero of the Tarnished's invasion, fought beside ghost-summons in the depths of his own grave, and bequeathed the Bloody Slash Ash of War, a weapon-skill that costs the user blood. He is what Godrick will become.
