◈ CHARACTER

Nepheli Loux

Warrior of the Badlands · Sovereign of Limgrave

"This grafting of Godrick's ill befits a Lord. He's tainted the very winds."

Approaching Stormveil

Nepheli Loux is the adopted daughter of Gideon Ofnir, a barbarian warrior with twin axes who was taken in when she lost the guidance of grace. Gideon used her as a "pawn", putting her in service of the player for his own political objectives, using her strength without informing her of his plans. When she understood she was being instrumentalized (her growing suspicions, then proof that Gideon had ordered his men to commit a tragedy against those she protected), she left him in a definitive break. Her true heritage: the "storm of her forebears", ancestral magic evoking birds-of-prey and wild Badlands winds, manifested in her Stormhawk Ashes and combat style. Her original vow was to lead the storm to drive the filth from the winds. She settled at Stormveil Castle as the new ruler of Limgrave alongside Kenneth Haight (legitimate heir), summoning "the storm to drive the wretched from these winds." Her arc: from political tool to autonomous agent, recovering her original mission after her adoptive father's betrayal. Gideon describes her coldly: "Despite appearances, she is more than capable in battle.

NPC DialogueSorcerer Thops (Dialogue)
Clearly not one of Godrick's lot. I am Nepheli Loux. Tarnished and warrior, like you. I'm here by decree of my father. I thought you'd receive a summons to the Roundtable. Nepheli Loux. We met at Stormveil. I'm glad to see you here. You received a summons to the Roundtable? The pleasure's mine, as a fellow Tarnished, guided by grace to the Roundtable Hold. I've not seen you here before. Warrior. Here by decree of my father. Let the scars I carve remind them. Ah, you... Though it was not my intent... I betrayed him... Nepheli Loux, Warrior I...can no longer trust in father... To think he'd order his men to enact such tragedy... Where is the justice he purports, in that? I will call upon the storm, to drive away the foulness that has settled on the winds. Again, I am Nepheli Loux. Some call me by the title of Lady, but I remain the same woman underneath. You are but a simple villain. Let the scars remind you; this lesson comes from Nepheli Loux! You wouldn't even register as a threat to father. Hurry up and die.
NPC DialogueNepheli Loux Puppet

One of Seluvis's favorite puppets. Use to summon the spirit of Nepheli Loux. Puppet of a warrior who was betrayed by her pure heart. Wields a Stormhawk Axe in both hands and uses the Thunderstorm skill. A diamond in the rough, deserving of special care lest its potential be squandered. Nepheli Loux truly was a warrior.

NPC DialogueNepheli Loux, Warrior
I...can no longer trust in father... To think he'd order his men to enact such tragedy... Where is the justice he purports, in that? He once told me that if he became Elden Lord, he would never allow the downtrodden to be cheated ever again. Was he simply lying to me? No, no, no... How could I say that? Father has always given me his guidance... And now...I've lost it... ... Medicine, is it? Fine. I'll take a dose. Perhaps it'll do me some good. ... It's very sweet...isn't it... And very...very... ... Is that ash? I can smell the ancient storm in it... My thanks. I'll gladly take it. I'm...not like Roderika. I don't feel the presence of spirits, let alone see them. Still, this ash.. It reminds me of my first hawk. Thank you. In this ash, I can smell the ancient storm. It reminds me of my first hawk. It's been some time. I must thank you, for your aid. I told father I would be with him no longer. I remembered the vow I took when I first became a warrior, so many moons ago. This land is much like the one from which I hail. I will call upon the storm, to drive away the foulness that has settled on the winds. Again, I am Nepheli Loux. Warrior. Some call me by the title of Lady, but I remain the same woman underneath. Though I have now abandoned my former guidance. I cannot express how much you've helped me. Should you become Elden Lord. I would gladly lighten your burden. Farewell, fellow warrior. I will remain, to summon the storm. But your guidance, and your fight... Surely lie elsewhere. I will remain, to summon the storm. But your guidance, and your fight... Surely lie elsewhere.
