Stranded Graveyard & Chapel of Anticipation
The Stranded Graveyard is a small underground tomb in the cliffs above Limgrave, the place where every summoned Tarnished wakes. The Tarnished's body is interred in one of the catacombs' coffins, and the maiden Melina arrives at the first Site of Grace inside to deliver the Bell-Bearing and the Spectral Steed Whistle. From there a fog-curtained doorway leads to the Chapel of Anticipation, the threshold ritual for Tarnished who would-be lord.
At the Chapel waits the Grafted Scion, a horror of mismatched limbs and patchwork flesh. To the underprepared Tarnished he is unbeatable; to the destined Tarnished he is a closure of the prologue. After his defeat the Chapel collapses and the Tarnished is cast into the cliffs of Limgrave to begin the journey proper. The corpse of Vyke, the most accomplished Tarnished before the Tarnished, lies at the Chapel's altar, his spear still planted in the ground.
A delicate goldwork ring. Can be used as a finger whistle. Sound the whistle to summon and ride Torrent, the spectral steed. (Dismounts steed when used while on horseback.) Upon his death, the spectral steed can be summoned again, but doing so drains the Flask of Crimson Tears.
War spear singed and blistered by fingers, used by Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable Hold. Like Vyke himself, it has been tormented by the yellow flame of frenzy from within.
