◈ ELDEN LORDHoarah Loux, Chieftain of the Badlands
Godfrey's exile-name, the Tarnished's old original lord returning to claim his throne

Hoarah Loux, Chieftain of the Badlands
'Remembrance of the warrior Hoarah Loux, hewn into the Erdtree. The power of its namesake can be unlocked by the Finger Reader. When Godfrey, first Elden Lord was robbed of his grace, becoming Tarnished, he took with him his kinfolk and left the Lands Between. After the Long March of the Tarnished came to an end, Godfrey divested himself of kingship, becoming a simple warrior once more.' Hoarah Loux is the name he takes up in exile, most likely that of the warrior he was before his kingship. He was a chieftain of the badlands beyond the fog: a wild, ferocious warrior who took heads with his bare hands and wore no king's crown. The age of the Erdtree began amongst conflict, when Godfrey was lord of the battlefield; Marika made him her first Elden Lord, and he ruled at her side as the founder of the Order. When he vowed to become a lord, he took the Beast Regent Serosh upon his back, to suppress the ceaseless lust for battle that raged within. Then, when his work was done, Marika stripped his grace and exiled him back to the badlands. He reverted. The lion stayed. The crown was lost.
'Arise now, ye Tarnished. Ye dead, who yet live. The call of long-lost grace speaks to us all. Hoarah Loux, chieftain of the badlands.' The intro narration names him among the lord-candidates because he is the original. Godfrey has returned to the Lands Between of his own accord, 'Alas, I am returned', and guards the gates of the Erdtree that every ending must pass through. The Tarnished defeats him in single combat (he throws off the Beast Regent, 'Thou didst me good service, Serosh', and rises as Hoarah Loux to fight for the right to be lord first), and may then inherit the title of Elden Lord. The Age of Fracture ending closes by leaving the Order as it originally was, with a new lord seated on the old throne. It is the canon's most conservative ending. Marika is dead, Godfrey-Hoarah-Loux is dead, the Tarnished is the new lord by inheritance. Goldmask would say the Order is unmended. Hoarah Loux would say his job is finally over.
