Miquella's vow, before the duel
"Let your thoughts be only of love."
Phase 2, the consort's charm
Freyja, who once fought alongside the general, recalls that as the festival of war concluded Radahn's soul met an honourable end, and that Kindly Miquella wishes to revive it. The wish went back to their childhood, when Miquella saw a lord in Radahn, in his strength and his kindness that stood in stark contrast with their afflicted selves, and made his heartfelt wish that Radahn would one day be his king consort. At Aeonia, when Malenia let the rotflower blossom, Radahn heard a murmur in his ear: 'Miquella awaits thee, O promised consort.' The rite of the divine gateway reads that a lord will usher in a god's return, and the lord's soul will require a vessel; Mohg's body, absconded with after his slaying and taken straight to Miquella, served as that vessel. The result is a fused god: Mohg's shoulders and arms, Radahn's mind and gravitational sword, and at his back a child-Miquella.
What Miquella asks of him is spoken aloud: honour our part of the vow, and promise me you'll be my consort; in exchange, the world will be made a gentler place. He reaches the tower enshrouded by shadow having abandoned his golden flesh, his blinding strength and even his fate, and declares there that the vow will be honoured and his Lord brother's soul will return. The enchantment over his followers lapses before the fight; Leda finds the Tarnished alone completely unchanged, as if nothing was ever cast upon them. Radahn fights with the gravitational powers he learned in Sellia, then rises as the Promised Consort, a skill that imbues the two greatswords with the light of Miquella, the strength of Miquella upon his deific return, and delivers a slashing attack accompanied by columns of light. Miquella sought to accept all that was and would be, says the incantation of that light, but found one that refused to be embraced.
Remembrance of a God and a LordRemembrance of Radahn, consort of Miquella, hewn into the Scadutree. In their childhood, Miquella saw in Radahn a lord. His strength, and his kindness, that stood in stark contrast with their afflicted selves. And so Miquella made his heartfelt wish. That Radahn would one day be his king consort.
Greatsword of Radahn (Lord)Greatswords of black steel wielded by Radahn in his youth. A pair of weapons decorated with a lion mane motif. These were in his possession immediately before his triumph over the stars—the swords of a lord who does not rely on physical strength and gravity alone.
Consort's RobeFine robe of white silk worn by Tanith, Lady of the Volcano Manor. Long ago, when Rykard first set eyes on Tanith, she was working as a dancer in a foreign land. Soon, he made her his consort. She was the only human to remain by his side when he became the serpent of blasphemy. In that moment, Tanith was truly charmed by him.
