Two Fingers vs Three Fingers
The Two Fingers and the Three Fingers are siblings, both born from Metyr the Mother of Fingers in an age long before Marika's reign. The Two Fingers were the Greater Will's chosen messengers: pale, finger-shaped beings housed in chapels across the Lands Between, who interpreted celestial directives through Finger Maidens like Enia and crowned every Tarnished they deemed worthy. Their teaching was the Order itself, and their voice the only orthodox path to lordship.
The Three Fingers are their opposite. Mottled red, twitching, sealed beneath the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds of Leyndell, they preach the doctrine of total ending: that all life is suffering, that the only mercy is to burn the world clean. Marika locked them away in the deepest sewers because she knew what would follow if a Tarnished accepted them. Hyetta, Shabriri, and Midra are the most visible champions of the Three Fingers' offer; each found a different way to fail or to succeed at carrying their flame.
