Miquella's Great Charm

The kindly god who unmade himself to be loved

"Appearing frail in both body and mind, I presumed he'd be like to stumble upon the field of battle. The conceits, the hypocrisy, of the world built upon the Erdtree. The follies of men, their bitter suffering. With kind compassion he would unmake them all."

The kindly god's promise

When Mohg abducted Miquella's unborn body, Miquella did not resist. The cocoon was a vessel he no longer wanted: he had decided to ascend as a god, and to become a god he had to be reduced to nothing. He left in the Lands Between his flesh, his arm of unalloyed gold, his memory of love for Radahn, his memory of Malenia, and even his alter Trina; each was hidden across the Realm of Shadow as a relic the Tarnished may find. What remained was a will so distilled that it could enchant any being it touched.

Miquella's charm bends every demigod, knight, and saint who travels with him: Needle Knight Leda, Sir Ansbach, Freyja the Redmane, Hornsent the Avenger, the dragon priestess Florissax, Thiollier the poisonmaker. Each follows him for their own reason and each is, without knowing it, charmed beyond reason by a god who has stripped himself of doubt. To break the charm requires destroying the god he becomes; to refuse the charm requires being the one Tarnished he could not reach in time.
